How would my LevelSpy react to a possible floating layer in the monitoring well?

The LevelSpy always measures the distance between the edge of the measuring tube and the level of the upper liquid. In the event of a floating layer, the highest level of the floating layer, not the water level underneath.

Note:
When using a measuring tape instead of a LevelSpy, the measuring probe will become seriously contaminated, fail to give a reliable measurement result or even break down.
